About the role

AgentMail is building the identity and communication infrastructure for AI agents, starting with email. We are looking for a Founding Engineer with backend and infra focus to architect systems for agents as the end users.

Responsibilities

• Design APIs that are intuitive for both humans and LLMs • Architect high-throughput, low-latency systems • Write and review clean, idiomatic code • Maintain comprehensive documentation

Qualifications

• Has prior work experience (internships count) as an engineer at a tech company • Has shipped software used in production by real users (work or personal projects)

Compensation

• $150k - $250k base salary • 0.5% - 2.0% equity • Breakfast, lunch, and dinner (Doordash) • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • Wellness stipend

AgentMail is the email inbox API for AI agents. It gives agents their own email inboxes, like Gmail does for humans. Unlike other email APIs, AgentMail provides fully-managed, persistent inboxes that handle parsing, threading, labeling, searching, and replying so agents get the same email experience as humans. Email is critical to identity and communication on the internet. Much of the context that people use for their work exists within email. AgentMail enables AI agents to meet people where they work and use the internet like humans do.
