2026 Annapurna Labs at AWS Internships (US) - Machine Learning Systems & Silicon Innovation

Position Overview

Annapurna Labs (an Amazon company) is seeking bold innovators for their 2026 internship program. The role involves working on custom silicon and revolutionary software systems that power AWS's most advanced AI infrastructure. Interns will tackle real technical challenges in AI acceleration across multiple technical tracks including ML Systems & Compilers, Systems Software & Infrastructure, and Silicon Innovation & Design. Projects include training the largest language models, developing ML accelerator chips, optimizing ML frameworks, designing next-gen AI accelerator chips, and building distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects that directly impact millions of AWS customers worldwide
• Contribute to ML Systems & Compilers track including Framework Optimization (PyTorch, JAX), Compiler Development & Optimization, Distributed Training Systems, Performance Engineering, and ML Infrastructure Development
• Participate in Systems Software & Infrastructure track covering Firmware & Driver Development, Runtime Systems, Fleet Management & Automation, Hardware/Software Integration, and Performance Analysis Tools
• Engage in Silicon Innovation & Design track involving RTL Development for ML Accelerators, Hardware Architecture & Modeling, Physical Design & Power Optimization, Custom Circuit Design, and Pre/Post Silicon Validation

Requirements & Skills

• Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum
• Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
• Must be enrolled in a full-time degree program at time of application and returning to school after the internship
• Programming experience in C, C++, Python, or similar languages
• Experience in two or more of the following areas:
